Together There Is Power!

pastor alan shares heart"Together There Is Power" was the title of Pastor Matt's message today. It was our first service together as one great church! Pastors Matt, Julie, Alan and Claire all participated in today’s service. The morning began with food and fellowship and then a cheeky version of speed dating, creatively called - Speed Greeting! :-)

An official welcome from the pastors included all four sharing their heart. Pastor Claire said she was calm until the morning prayer - and then the excitement took over! Pastor Alan encouraged us to walk in God's favour. Pastor’s Julie and Matt shared how they believed this was an historic service; and that in the years to come we will look back and realise the true significance of it all. Also, Pastor Matt said that over the next three months our key words are, 'FUN, FELLOWSHIP, and FLEXIBILITY!'

The worship team brought the service straight to the inner courts of God's throne! Afterwards, Pastor Matt showed a video clip of the father/son Hoyt family running team (see www.sermonspice.com). A moving true life example of how ‘Together there is Power’, the video clip served as an inspiring introduction to Pastor Matt's message.

This powerful exhortation by our pastor focused on 2 Chronicles 5, Acts 2 & Acts 4 among other scriptures emphasising how unity produces an atmosphere favourable to the manifested Glory of God. Drawing from the passage in 2 Chronicles, Pastor Matt showed how that during the dedication of Solomon's Temple there were different 'divisions' who came together and ‘consecrated themselves’ toward God's purposes. Their unity resulted in a manifestation of the Glory of God so heavy that even the ministers where not able to stand.

In the same way, Pastor Matt challenged us all to consecrate and commit ourselves to singleness of heart and mind as we walk out this journey 'Together'. He encouraged us to look not at one service (today), or even a few weeks - but instead take a long term view keeping our eyes on the horizon and looking toward the next decade. Walking in divine love, overlooking other’s differences, and believing the best about everyone, are keys to our unity!

This 'Together There is Power' message led right into our receiving communion together as one new church family led by Pastor Alan as he closed out the service.

Nearly everyone stayed around for more fellowship - the atmosphere was buzzing! At 2 pm there were still people enjoying each others’ company! What a great church! What a great day! Check out some of the pictures!

It truly was an awesome time of fellowshipand I am excited about what God IS going to release from this unity.God Bless you all.

It would be a good idea if the name tags were kept on for a few more weeks.
